The 2015 Westfield FFA Cup Round of 32 kicks off on July 29 after 604 preliminary matches with some extraordinary results played at over 300 different venues across Australia.
The first match of the 2015 preliminary rounds took place in Lennox Head (Alstonville 3 - Lennox Head 1) in far north NSW in February, and concluded in late June in Adelaide as Croydon Kings took out the last of the qualifying spots with a 2-0 win over 2014 FFA Cup quarter-finalists Adelaide City.
Amazingly with almost 2900 goals scored in 604 games, just three preliminary round matches ended 0-0.
Two games finished with 18 goals scored - when Mayfield defeated Dudley Redhead 17-1 in the early Northern NSW stages, and Croydon Kings from Adelaide romped to a 18-0 win over Mount Gambier's Apollo in South Australia's second round.
But perhaps the most remarkable scoreline was the 6-6 match between Sunshine George Cross and North Sunshine Eagles in Victoria round five, where North took out the local derby on penalties.

Yagoona 6 - Oatley 5 (NSW round 2), Mackay Magpies 7 - Mackay Wanderers 5 (Qld - Mackay region - round two) and Coffs City 8 - Alstonville 4 (NNSW final playoff round) also sounded like entertaining spectacles.
The most stunning extra-time performance was by Melbourne's Melton Phoenix, who eventually won 5-1 following a 1-1 scoreline at 90 minutes over Dandenong South in Victoria round 2.
And the standout shoot-out in the preliminary rounds was Palm Beach's 12-11 win on penalties over Broadbeach following a 3-3 result after extra time, in the Queensland - Gold Coast final playoff.
In terms of the geographic spread of contests it's hard to imagine that Australia has ever seen a competition like the preliminary 2015 FFA Cup series.
From Geraldton's Eadon Clarke Field in the west to Hervey Bay Fields in the east (3800km apart), and from the Darwin Football Centre in the north down 3760 kilometres to Sherburd Oval in Hobart's southern suburbs, the preliminary 2015 FFA Cup series truly covered the nation.
With the addition of the Northern Territory this year, the 2015 series even saw action in the nation's red centre, as Alice Springs played host to three matches.
Ultimately it was Celtic who represented the NT southern zone, earning the Alice Springs' outfit a trip to the final NT playoff in the top end where Darwin Olympic emerged victorious. The NT cup teams also included Borroloola from the Barkly Tablelands, 1000km south east of Darwin.

Other inland regions represented in the 2015 FFA Cup preliminary series included Kalgoorlie-Boulder (Twin City Saints and Boulder City), Barmera United from South Australia's Riverland, along with clubs from Toowoomba in Queensland, Cobram on the Victorian side of the Murray River and Wagga Wagga in the NSW Riverina.
A variety of venues, some mesmerizing match-ups, and a gluttony of goals should continue to feature in the 2015 FFA Cup as the ten Hyundai A-League teams and PS4 NPL 2014 Champions MetroStars join the 21 qualifiers from the preliminary rounds.
Remarkably, no teams from the same state confront each other in the Round of 32, with all matches being interstate trips for the away teams.
Melbourne teams Heidelberg and South Melbourne both travel north to play Broadmeadow Magic (Newcastle) and Palm Beach (Gold Coast) respectively, Adelaide's MetroStars make the trek to Sydney to take on Blacktown City, while Brisbane Strikers fly to Melbourne to confront Hume City on July 29.
On August 4, it's Balmain Tigers (from the third tier of the NSW league) against reigning A-League Champions Melbourne Victory, Gungahlin (from Canberra) against Sydney Olympic, Sydney United against South Hobart, and Newcastle's Edgeworth against Melbourne City; while the following evening it's Sorrento (Perth) v Sydney FC, Darwin Olympic v 2014 FFA Cup winners Adelaide United, Croydon Kings (Adelaide) v Lions FC (Brisbane), and Sydney's Rockdale City up against Perth SC.
In the last day of Round of 32 action on August 11 there are three A-League club match-ups - Western Sydney Wanderers v Brisbane Roar, Newcastle Jets v Perth Glory, and Central Coast Mariners v Wellington Phoenix - while Victoria's Oakleigh Cannons will host Far North Queensland Heat.
As the Round of 32 begins and the cut-throat nature of the knock-out matches continue through to the final on November 7, it's surely set to be another entertaining edition of the Westfield FFA Cup in 2015.
